CHARITY WORK

Breast Cancer Care Fashion Gala 2015,2016 & 2017
First assistant to Hilary Alexander. This role includes styling 32 models who have either have or have had breast cancer. These women are not models and come in all shapes and sizes ranging from a size 6 to a 22. We then sit down and brain storm seven scenes and themes by looking at current trends that we can incorporate in the show. This leads to measurement day, fitting day, dress rehearsal and finally show time. My role involves building and maintaining relationships with brands and PR companies explaining about the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Gala. Most brands are very willing to help and do what they can to support the charity. Hilary and I also do shop pulls where I set up store appointments through the PR’s or the brand themselves. Doing these shop pulls helps because most brands would want us to pick online but this way we really see what we are getting and what we know will work with the models we have to style. We then have the fitting day 2 weeks before the show where Hilary and I will finalize everything in preparation for the fitting day. After the show I organize all returns to the relevant brands and PR’s. I really enjoy working on the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Gala it is very rewarding and also its a lovely day for these women who have been or are going through so much its truly wonderful to be a part of it. Working so closely with Hilary is such a great experience for me and we have such a good relationship as she really values my opinion and listens to my ideas. From a mentor like Hilary it really means a lot.
